The separate drape construction allows independent movement between hood and bib, while tapered back and notched shoulder panels ensure the fabric lies flat against your body. This prevents bunching under turnout coat collars and maintains full mobility in all positions.

Proven Performance: UL Classified to meet or exceed NFPA 1971 requirements, with TPP ratings of 31.2–33.1 and burst strength of 411 N—nearly double the minimum standard.

This revolutionary carbon fiber-based fabric won’t burn in air and maintains dimensional stability even after 90 seconds at temperatures exceeding 2,300°F. Unlike traditional FR fabrics that char and shrink within seconds, Carbon Shield™ provides extended escape time in the most severe exposures. The fabric’s inherent structure also wicks moisture away from skin for improved comfort.

Premium Construction Details

Manufactured in Green Lake, Wisconsin, every Cobra™ Elite hood features six-thread flat-seam construction (stitch type 607) for major seams, reinforced with additional stitching for durability. The face opening uses X-heavy 1/2″ elastic that stretches 25% more than conventional hoods, and all seams are sewn with 100% Nomex® thread (Tex 40) for maximum heat resistance.
