Traditional firefighting hoods have a dangerous flaw. When you tilt your head back to look up at a ceiling or overhead hazard, the face opening pulls away from your mask, leaving your neck and face exposed to heat and toxic smoke. This isn’t just uncomfortable—it’s life-threatening.
A Hood That Moves With You
The Cobra™ Elite Pro solves this problem with a smarter design. By reducing fabric bulk between your neck and chin, the hood slides naturally instead of pulling tight. The result? Your mask stays sealed, your skin stays protected, and you can focus on the job.
Real-World Tested: Firefighters wore this hood for a full year in actual emergencies. It was the only design that never pulled away from the SCBA mask, even with turnout coat collars cinched tight.
What Makes It Different
Sure-Fit™ Center Panel: A wide, contoured panel shapes the hood to your head, eliminating pressure points and hot spots.
Built-in Air Layer: Extra fabric creates space between the hood and your skin, adding another layer of heat protection.
Redesigned Bib: The chest and back panels are cut to work with modern SCBA harnesses, so shoulder straps don’t tug the hood out of position.
Carbon Shield™ Fabric: Next-Level Protection
This isn’t ordinary fire-resistant material. Carbon Shield™ fabric literally won’t burn in air. When exposed to a torch, typical fabrics char and shrink within seconds. Carbon Shield™ stays stable for over 90 seconds at temperatures above 2,300°F—giving you critical extra time to escape.
Additional Benefits:
-
Repels molten metal splashes
-
Won’t shrink or become brittle after heat exposure
-
Wicks sweat away from skin to keep you cooler
-
Non-reflective for tactical operations
Built to Last, Built to Standards
Every seam is sewn with 100% Nomex® thread using six-thread construction for maximum strength. The hood is UL Classified to meet NFPA 1971 standards for structural firefighting and is compliant with CAL-OSHA and OSHA regulations.
